The Fine Print
Terms of Use & Privacy Policy
1. Our Privacy Standard: A Handshake, Not a Harvest
Most websites today are run by massive media companies that view you as a "data point" to be tracked, harvested, and sold. At Scott’s Painting & Drywall, we find that practice distasteful.
- We do not track you: This site is built to provide information about our 35 years of local experience, not to spy on your browsing habits.
- No "Cookies": We don’t use tracking scripts to follow you around the internet or report your activity to Big Tech.
- Your Information is Sacred: If you contact us for a quote or leave a review, that information stays with us. We do not sell your phone number or email to telemarketers or third-party "partners." We keep our records in-house and offline.
2. Authenticity: Real Jobs, Not "AI" Generative Art
In an era where the internet is being flooded with "perfect" images generated by computers, we believe in showing you the real thing.
- Real Job Sites: Every photo in our gallery is a real-world project completed by Scott’s Painting & Drywall. We do not use "Generative AI" to create fake project photos or idealized living rooms.
- Authentic Quality: Our photos are unfiltered. On rare occasions, we may adjust the brightness of a "white-on-white" room so the walls are visible on your screen, but the workmanship shown is 100% authentic.
3. Notice to "Data Scrapers" and Lead-Generation Sites
All content on this website—including every word of text and every photo in our gallery—is the copyrighted intellectual property of Scott Neff.
- Ownership: This protection is retroactive and applies to all material we have published since 1991.
- Unauthorized Use: We do not grant permission for third-party "directory" or "lead-gen" sites to scrape our data or use our project photos to sell leads to other contractors.
- The "Fake Site" Warning: Using our hard-earned reputation to populate "mirror" websites or fake listings is a violation of federal law. We reserve the right to pursue all available remedies to protect our name.
4. Photos & Professional Use
- Project Documentation: We take pride in our work and reserve the right to use photos of the projects we complete to showcase our quality to future customers.
- Privacy & Respect: Our photography is focused strictly on the craftsmanship—the paint, the drywall, and the textures.
- Common Sense Resolution: If you are a past customer and have a concern regarding a photo of your project, please contact Scott directly. We believe in resolving such matters with a simple conversation between neighbors.
5. Estimates & External Links
- Bids: Any pricing information or "ballpark" figures found on this site are for educational purposes. No information here constitutes a binding contract. A formal bid is only provided after an in-person inspection and will be delivered as a signed, written scope of work.
- Third-Party Links: We provide links to Facebook, Yelp, and Google so you can see our local reviews. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external platforms. Once you leave our site, you are subject to their rules.
6. The "Lawyer-Required" Disclaimer
My lawyer tells me I have to mention that while I keep this site as accurate as possible, it’s still just a website—meaning I’m not liable for any typos, technical glitches, or "internet gremlins" that might pop up. To keep things clear, no information on these pages counts as a binding contract; that only happens when we both sign a physical, written scope of work in person. Basically, use this site for information, but use our signed paperwork for the real deal.
7. Notice to Solicitors
The contact info on this site is for customers only. We do not accept unsolicited sales pitches or marketing services. All unauthorized solicitations will be ignored and marked as spam.
