Rejuvenating a Country Home Exterior

This beautiful two-story country home needed a fresh coat of paint, so first we power-washed it and had to get some paint chips for color-matching.

The owners, Dolphi and Barbara had replaced some of the cedar siding in the front of the house, and they wanted everything to look seamless in the end.

Sherwin Williams cracked the code, and we ended up using a product that was the same latex solid colored stain that had previously been used.

The Beating Taken by Years of Sunshine

The sections of the siding that pop out above the roof line were the toughest part of the job; the safest way to make it easy was by rigging together a few ladders -- don't try this at home, kids!.

As you can see, certain sides of the house have been faded by years of the sun beating down, and weathered by storms as is typical in Iowa.

Bringing in the Heavy Equipment to Finish the Job

This high wall had a lot of things on the ground around it, making it basically impossible to use our conventional ladders; so when the owners said they thought a mechanized lift may make it easier, I absolutely agreed.

With the power washing, some caulking where necessary and one thick coat of Woodscapes by Sherwin Williams, the house was popping fresh!

Refreshed the Decks and Repeat Business

The last part of Dolphi and Barbara's home exterior rejuvenation was to do the decks; we used a nice chocolatey color of Deckscapes by Sherwin Williams.

Being pleased with our workmanship and the result: the customers were so happy that they had us come back in the Fall for some interior work.
